Griaučių-raumenų sistemos kineziterapija

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is used to restore the patient's biomechanical and structural changes. During physiotherapy, targeted methods are selected that help maximize the person's functional capacity so that he can return to normal daily activities as soon as possible. Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is most often used after injuries and in cases of physical disorders caused by an inappropriate lifestyle or aging processes.

Areas of application:

  • Spinal problems, including herniated discs, degenerative changes, sciatica, neck, head, and upper and lower limb pain.

  • Joint problems, including arthritis, which is characterized by pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints.

  • Damage to muscles, ligaments, cartilage and tendons that occur due to incorrect positions during work, improper load and acquired sports injuries.

Services provided

Examination and treatment of posture, muscle strength, joint mobility, and gait disorders.

Treatment methods

Therapeutic physical exercises are targeted movements selected individually for each patient, taking into account their disorders, physical capacity and age. These exercises help restore, improve and maintain the functional state of bones and muscles, cardiovascular and other systems.

Manual therapy is a manual treatment (mobilization, massage) aimed at reducing pain, restoring normal range of motion of the intervertebral joints, restoring muscle tone balance and accelerating healing processes. Treatment technique: Maitland and Mulligan methods.

Massage is the mobilization and manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Massage helps reduce pain and swelling, relieves muscle tension, corrects muscle imbalances, improves joint range of motion, improves blood circulation, accelerates the healing process after soft tissue injuries, reduces the risk of injury, improves overall well-being, and helps with relaxation.

Electrotherapy, ultrasound, and Pilates exercises may be used - read more about this in the services described below.

Pelvic floor treatment

Pelvic floor therapy is designed to restore the function of the pelvic floor muscles in cases of urinary incontinence after childbirth or other pelvic floor disorders. Pelvic floor muscle disorders can occur during pregnancy, after childbirth, with aging, after pelvic surgery, being overweight, or experiencing stress. For these reasons, these muscles can be too tense or too relaxed, weakened.

Areas of application:

  • urinary and fecal incontinence

  • irritable or overactive bladder syndrome

  • pelvic organ prolapse

  • pelvic pain

  • pain during sexual intercourse

Physiotherapy for neurological disorders

Physiotherapy for neurological disorders consists of various processes aimed at maximally improving functional movements and improving the quality of life of individuals diagnosed with disorders that affect both the central and peripheral nervous systems (stroke, Parkinson's disease, polyneuropathies, multiple sclerosis, head injuries, spinal cord injury, complex regional pain syndrome, dementia).

The main goal of this physiotherapy is to restore impaired or lost skills, ensure proper functioning of the neuromuscular system, and prevent the development of contractures, muscle atrophy, recurrent falls, pain, and decreased physical activity levels.

Back Pain Treatment
Neurologinių sutrikimų kineziterapija

Physiotherapy for neurological disorders uses evidence-based practice methods. The optimal therapeutic treatment method is selected taking into account the individual situation, cognitive status and preferences of each patient, as well as comorbidities.

Services provided

Assessment and correction of gait, coordination, muscle and joint mobility, balance, muscle strength and tone, sensory disorders, fine and gross motor skills, and pain.

Treatment methods

Therapeutic physical exercises - during physiotherapy for neurological disorders, a wide range of movements is selected, which is adapted to ensure the proper functioning of the musculoskeletal system, help restore lost nerve connections, slow down the loss of functions in the presence of degenerative changes, and improve the performance of daily activities.

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and the Bobath method are clinical treatment methods used to learn new motor skills, promote stability, movement and its quality, and normalize muscle tone. These methods rely on the adaptive capacity of the nervous system and the principles of motor learning.

Manual techniques (Kaltenborn, Maitland, soft tissue mobilization) are passive movements performed with the hands, designed to restore optimal function of the musculoskeletal system and reduce pain.

Neurodynamic mobilization - passive techniques and active exercises that stimulate peripheral nerve conduction to relieve pain and sensory disturbances, as well as improve mobility.

Mirror therapy and motor imagery training are methods used to promote movement restoration in cases where it is severely limited due to pain or loss of motor function.

Respiratory system physiotherapy

Treatment methods: drainage positions, coughing exercises, vibration movements, chest mobilization, breathing exercises (abdominal breathing, diaphragmatic breathing).

The objectives of this methodology are:

  • prevents airway obstruction and secretion accumulation;

  • improves lung ventilation, helps drain secretions;

  • improves endurance and overall exercise tolerance;

  • reduces energy expenditure during breathing;

  • prevents or corrects postural deformities associated with respiratory diseases;

  • maintains or improves thoracic mobility;

  • improves cough efficiency;

  • strengthens respiratory muscles.

Pathologies that can be treated with this physiotherapy: bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, muscular dystrophies, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, previous COVID-19 disease.

Manual scar treatment can be applied to clients after any type of surgery (cesarean section, oncological diseases, orthopedic surgeries, burns, cosmetic surgeries, facial surgeries) and other causes of scarring.

.

How can scar therapy help?

  • Promotes the repair of scar tissue on the skin surface and in the tissues beneath the skin.

  • Reduces the symptoms often experienced with it - pain, increased or decreased sensitivity, itching, and a feeling of tightness.

  • Helps restore not only the aesthetic appearance of the scar, but also various physical limitations associated with it.

Pilates

Pilates

These are specific exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in 1920. This is a great method that helps solve both short-term and long-term posture problems. This method strengthens deep, internal muscles, improves flexibility, muscle endurance and coordination. Pilates exercises are used as a rehabilitation method after injuries, improving athletic performance, reducing back pain and stress. Pilates exercise is intended for all age groups and people with different physical fitness. Our clinic uses clinical modified Pilates according to each patient's health problems, age and physical fitness. Our clinic trainer (physiotherapist) has completed APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) courses.

Yoga Poses

Pilates (for pregnant women) - these are special exercises adapted for pregnant women, the goals of which are to maintain normal pelvic floor muscle strength and endurance, reduce pain in the pelvic and back area, improve spinal and pelvic stability, posture, blood circulation, and maintain mobility.

and strengthen the upper body. This exercise will also help maintain physical fitness, reduce insomnia, stress, anxiety, the risk of gestational diabetes, obesity, preeclampsia, premature birth, rectus abdominis separation, and urinary incontinence.

Electrotherapy

it is a treatment with pulsed currents, restoring the normal functional state of organs and tissues. It helps reduce pain, swelling, stimulates muscle activity, improves blood and lymph circulation and thus speeds up the healing process.

Taping

it is a way to keep the muscles and bones in a stable position during movement, using an elastic adhesive cotton tape. This method reduces pain, swelling, corrects muscle activity, reduces their tension, corrects posture, and helps prevent injuries.
